A story that comes from afar (and from the territory)
We are deeply convinced that one cannot look to the future without knowing the past: we at Seterie Mosconi can rely on a history of over 50 years in the field of yarns, during which we have embraced the traditions and expert techniques of local artisans.
Today, therefore, all the transformations and treatments that add value to our product take place in Italy, in the Como area, which boasts a long tradition in these processes: the result is a product derived from the skilled craftsmanship of our local artisans and, therefore, 100% Made In Italy in every phase of processing, from twisting to weaving, from printing to hemming, and finally to packaging.
Natural fibers
At the base of each of our products is a careful selection of raw materials: we have chosen to work only with natural and precious fibers, such as silk, wool, linen, cashmere, and all their derivatives.
To this, we also apply the rule of experimentation in design: not only, therefore, refined materials, but also plays of transparency and color studies to ensure the uniqueness and characterization of the product for each of our clients, to be reinvented each time.
Attention to ecology
We are well aware of how the textile industry is responsible for a negative environmental impact deriving from the entire production chain: from water and soil consumption to greenhouse gas emissions, from processing waste to the low recycling rate, we at Seterie Mosconi want, in our small way, to be agents of change.
For this reason, we have decided to invest both in organic natural yarns and in yarns derived from the recycling of other materials: while the former, in addition to reducing environmental impact as they are produced without the use of substances harmful to the environment, also significantly reduce the suffering of millions of animals, the latter allow for the implementation of the circularity that our environment needs, thus bringing certain wastes (such as plastic bottles or polyester) to live a second life.
The importance of innovation
From here, then, comes our focus on innovation in the study and use of materials: in this case too, it is about thinking and using products capable of reducing the impact of the entire life cycle of a garment.
We are talking about the innovative Newlife yarn, derived from plastic bottles, eco-bio fabrics such as hemp, organic cotton, organic wool, and even bamboo, greencel, or recycled polyester, derived from eco-friendly polyester fibers that come from either plastic bottles or other garments.
